Under The Pretense of....

-.- I have no other talent other than making pastries and writing, and even then, I'm mediocre at best. That doesn't stop me from trying to get better. It upsets me how some people give up so easily.

Hmm...I don't consider myself pretty, although I know many people that would hit my head with a heavy book for thinking that. T.T But when you are told that you would make a great plus size model, what am I supposed to think? Whaa. It's always, "Mel, you do not look big...what size 18 pant!? ^^; Just loose some, but you still would make a great plus size model."

Grrr...

Ah well.

My own damn fault, anywho, and used to be bigger, so it's not like I'm just cmplaining and doing nothing about it.

OH! I have tons of stories that I need to read...but I need to update my story as well...I need to think of a title for my story! GAH! -.- Life is so unfair. What the hell, only 24 hours in a day? I'm mad at the orbit. GO SLOWER DAMMIT! >o

Okay, so, my name is Melanie. You may call me Mel or Melly, depending on how playful you are. I really don't mind what I'm called as long as it isn't derogatory.

I'm not too good on giving descriptions on myself, so don't be surprised if you find out something about me that I didn't mention. I am a pansexual mexican american woman born in California. I am not in tune with the people of my culture, nor do I really care for them, so don't expect me to be supportive for the supposed "raza". Many of the stupid machismo s**t about my culture disgusts me, especially when most of the people of my ethnicity don't really know our history, and spew idiotic things that I dare not repeat, because it will upset me. I have a bit of a respect for Mexican women, and how strong they can be, and, how in our culture; they are basically the foundation of a family unit, but for the most part, I was disillusioned at a young age. I do enjoy many of our colorful customs, and our language, in my opinion, is beautiful, so I will make it a priority to learn more about that. For now, I'm just American "whitewash", of which I am reminded of consistently.

I am currently 17, moving onto 18 in December. I'm in my last year of high school, and I feel trapped. I want to finish and go to college, get a job, and attend a pastry school, get a degree in business management and hosting, then open my very own burlesque house. I don't know where I want it at, but I know that I want it.

I do not believe in religion. I believe in what I believe, and that includes Mother Earth, spirits, reincarnation, and a personal place where we think that we will end up in. I believe in the possibility of a higher being as well, but I cannot be too sure. I see everything in shades of grey.

I love anime, manga, novels (basically reading), baking, cooking, swimming, and just relaxing on a cozy couch. I like going out as well, but I couldn't really care less. What matters to me is just being with the friends that I love. I don't really make friends easily. I'm a big reclusive introvert. I have been known to not seem apathetic, but that isn't true. I just don't instantly act on emotion. I like to reason with something and see how I really feel on things. Once that is done, then I will see what I will do, or let a subject go. I don't want to waste energy on negative emotion. I enjoy being happy. I also love color. Any color has its beauty...oh, and bunnies.
